The Shoulder: An evidence-based approach to diagnosis & treatment

Chris is a Senior Lecturer at Keele University. He is a physiotherapist by background but now a full time researcher & lecturer with special interest in the rotator cuff.

Marcus is consultant upper limb physiotherapist at the Derby Shoulder Unit. He is also a clinical researcher and the author of the Derby shoulder instability rehab programme.

This two-day course is based on best practice guidelines and research evidence. It is designed to give the participant the skills to assess, diagnose and treat all types of shoulder pathology. The course includes lectures, practical assessment and treatment techniques plus case- based discussion to aid clinical reasoning.

Learning Outcomes


  • To develop a critical, but balanced, approach to the assessment & management of shoulder pathology
  • To develop understanding of contemporary research and the implications for clinical practice
